• Course DescriptionIn this course, we learn basic physics and core concepts of quantum mechanics and solid-state physics to understand the key physical mechanisms governing the electrical and optical properties of semiconductor materials and devices. This course covers undergraduate-level fundamental physics and principles for operation of electronic devices and some of practical aspects of devices. Specific topics to be covered are crystal structures based on quantum mechanics, energy band theory, carrier distribution and recombination, carrier transport, and theory of p-n junction.
