2024. Fall
Understanding of LEDs
Time
Mon, Wed 10:30 - 12:00
Course Description
LEDs have drawn people's attention because of its very high emission eifficiency and environment-friendly nature. Recently, research and development on micro LED has been actively conducted for the purpose of application to displays. In this course, basic principles and theories of LEDs and applications to solid-state lighting will be given. And very recent Micro LED research trends, issues to be resolved, and industry trends will be explored.
2024. Spring
Introduction to Physical Electronics
Time
Mon., Wed., 10:30 – 12:00
Course Description
In this course, we learn basic physics and core concepts of quantum mechanics and solid-state physics to understand the key physical mechanisms governing the electrical and optical properties of semiconductor materials and devices. This course covers undergraduate-level fundamental physics and principles for operation of electronic devices and some of practical aspects of devices. Specific topics to be covered are crystal structures based on quantum mechanics, energy band theory, carrier distribution and recombination, carrier transport, and theory of p-n junction.
2023. Spring

2022. Fall
Semiconductor Materials and Devices
Time
Mon., Wed., 10:30 - 12:00
Course Description
In this course, we learn the core concepts of quantum mechanics and solid-state physics pertaining to understanding the key physical mechanisms that govern the electrical and optical properties of semiconductor materials and devices. This course explicitly covers undergraduate-level fundamental physics for operation of electronic devices, and expounds on the practical aspects of devices.
